People Strategies & Services offers comprehensive support in talent acquisition, compensation and selection, labor relations, fair employment and benefits. This department also develops corporate learning pathways and career development strategies to improve individual and organization effectiveness, culture and engagement.
The Sustainable Communities department aligns with SMUD’s core purpose and vision to enhance the quality of life for all our customers through innovative solutions. By creating innovative public and private partnerships, the Sustainable Communities team helps close the disparity gap through the implementation of environmental equity, economic vitality, mobility access, and social well-being programs to all communities in our service area, with special attention given to historically under-resourced neighborhoods.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I)
DE&I develops and implements strategies to establish SMUD as a diverse and inclusive employer, and positioning SMUD as a key player in the community to achieve equity for those it serves. The department drives cultural change within SMUD to ensure our workforce is representative of the diverse communities we serve and has a workplace that celebrates and leverages differences. This team spearheads programs and initiatives to create a work environment in which every employee feels valued, engaged, has a high level of trust and is comfortable bringing their whole authentic self to work.
