The Time-of-Day (5-8 p.m.) Rate is the standard rate for all residential customers. Customers can also choose the optional Fixed Rate.

SMUD's rates are among the lowest in California, and on average are 35% lower than those of neighboring PG&E.
The chart below shows the monthly price for a residential bill @ 750 kWh per month as of January 1, 2021.
