SMUD’s SmartSacramento® initiative laid the foundation for a wide range of customer benefits and utility-scale advances that can help transform how you use energy and how we serve your energy needs.
This started with the installation of 600,000 smart meters across our entire service area. These are connected to other leading technologies to create a "smart grid," allowing for a much more interactive customer experience than ever before.
