SMUD and Sacramento Kings Present Back to School STEM Tip-Off

Sacramento, Calif. – SMUD and the Sacramento Kings have partnered in a back-to-school STEM fair to get kids excited about science, technology, engineering and math as they head back to the classroom. SMUD is offering free science kits to the first 250 students in grades 1-6.

While students are picking up materials, they can earn cool swag, play games and get excited for the school year with emcee Kat, DJ Eddie Z and the Kings Community team.

  • When: Saturday, August 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Where: City Church, 3860 4th Avenue, Sacramento
  • Who: Students in grades 1-6

The purpose of the partnership is to expose young students to STEM in the hopes that they eventually choose careers in science and engineering. SMUD has many education-based programs for residential customers, students and teachers that can be found at smud.org/Education.
