Developer Connections Spring 2022
Megan Cordes is SMUD’s new Commercial and Industrial Specialist. Megan will be working closely with SMUD teams serving commercial customers to identify and promote new technologies and services that will both benefit local businesses and help us meet our zero carbon and efficiency goals. One of her major responsibilities will be delivering the free commercial workshops we offer our customers, taught by experts from across the country, and focusing on topics like electrification, Title 24 and building energy efficiency and decarbonization strategies.
Prior to SMUD, Megan was with ConSol where she was the lead technical consultant to the California Building Industry Association (CBIA) on building codes and standards. She has also worked for the California Energy Commission and SunPower. She has an extensive background in energy policy and building science and has worked with builders, government agencies, utilities, and other industry stakeholders to promote and execute energy efficiency and renewable projects and programs throughout her career.
We’d would like to hear from you about your experience building and selling all-electric homes. Please take this short 5-minute survey. Your responses will help us identify opportunities for process improvements and other ways to support you and your customers. We appreciate your input. https://www.smudinsights.com/c/a/6C1WGs1xtjq9mwtDkhkTGb
With the current regional construction boom, material shortage and extraordinary long lead times, it’s more important than ever to reach out to the Commercial Development team early during project ideation/conceptual phase of your project. It’s never too early to consider infrastructure because it’s usually a large line item in a project budget. Please visit us at https://www.smud.org/build to find your area’s representative or contact us at 916-732-5448 to discuss your project. Below are additional helpful contacts throughout the SMUD process.
