SMUD's Home Performance Program

SMUD’s Home Performance Program (HPP) takes a ‘whole-house’ approach to energy efficiency. You select from a list of participating HPP contractors to conduct a comprehensive review of your home’s energy efficiency and to prepare an upgrade plan. Upon your approval, they perform the necessary work and submit all the rebate paperwork on your behalf.

Depending on the upgrades you choose, you can get up to $5,000 in rebates for a gas heated home, or $8,000 for a home with electric heating. Participating customers see average annual electricity savings of about 15%.

IMPORTANT: To qualify for HPP rebates, upgrades must be performed as part of a comprehensive plan. Single item upgrades do not qualify (example: window or insulation upgrades, by themselves).
