Go green with SMUD
SMUD makes it easy for you to take care of the things that take care of us – the air we breathe, the water we drink and the living things that make up our delicate ecosystems. Here are some ways that you can take part:
For just $3 or $6 a month, SMUD will offset your electricity needs with power made from renewable resources, like wind, water and sun.
Get an email when your bill is ready. Then view, pay and track it all online.
Purchase or lease your own rooftop solar electric system and SMUD will buy the excess solar power you don’t use. And even if you don’t buy or lease, you can still get solar power through our SolarShares® program.
Mature shade trees around your home can save you up to 40 percent on summer cooling costs. SMUD and the Sacramento Tree Foundation can provide free trees, along with all you will need to properly plant and care for them.
We point out things to consider before buying or leasing an EV, including charging options, rates and available state and federal incentives.
SMUD and local builders demonstrate sustainable living in SMUD’s Home of the Future.
Voluntary donations from our customers fund solar projects for local schools, non-profit organizations and for low-income housing built by organizations like Habitat for Humanity.
The wise use of energy is perhaps the best way of all to go green.
You and SMUD – leading the way toward a cleaner environment
