Greenergy® price, terms and conditions

Who can I contact for more information?

What is the contract length?
Your participation is month-to-month and you may cancel or change your participation in Greenergy at any time at no cost.

How much will Greenergy cost?
Your monthly SMUD bill will have a line item showing your $3 or $18 Greenergy charge. The rest of your bill amount will be the same as it would have been without the Greenergy charge (example: if your regular bill would have been $78, your bill with the Greenergy would be $81 on the Greenergy Standard plan).

Will my Greenergy charge change over time?
Greenergy charge is a flat rate. If electricity rates change, it won't affect your Greenergy charge.

What are the enrollment options?

• Greenergy Standard: A portion of your electric usage (200 kWh) will come from renewable resources. A $3 charge will be added to your monthly electric bill.
• Greenergy local renewable: 100% of your electric usage will be met with renewable resources from the Sacramento region. A $18 charge will be added to your monthly electric bill.

What other fees might I be charged?
None.

How will I be billed?
Your voluntary Greenergy participation charge will be added to your regular monthly electric bill and will appear under the Electric Service Charges/Credits section. Your monthly SMUD bill will have a line item showing your $3 or $18 Greenergy charge.

Can I cancel my participation?
You may cancel or change your participation in Greenergy at any time at no cost. Just give us a call at 1-888-742-SMUD or send a letter to SMUD Greenergy® Program, P.O. Box 15830 MS A203, Sacramento, CA 95852.

I've heard about Residential SolarShares. Can I participate in that program, too?
Greenergy customers may enroll in Residential SolarShares but cannot participate in both programs simultaneously. If you enroll in Residential SolarShares, you will be unenrolled from Greenergy.
