SMUD takes Del Paso Heights students on field trip to SMUD MOSAC

Program increases community access to region’s largest science museum

On Saturday, students from the Del Paso Heights community will join SMUD, the California Department of Water Resources and other community volunteers for a free day at the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity.

The field trip launches SMUD’s pilot MOSAC Field Trips program. Increasing museum access so all community members, especially the region’s most vulnerable, gives students the opportunity to explore a vibrant science center and community gathering space through hands-on STEM learning experiences.

What: Field Trips to SMUD’s Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC)

When: Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Students will depart from the community center for the museum at 8:30 a.m.

Who: Dozens of students, representatives with SMUD, California Department of Water Resources and Del Paso Heights nonprofit organizations

Participating students, community volunteers and partners will meet for breakfast Saturday morning before being bussed to the museum, where students will enjoy exhibits, special hands-on lessons and a planetarium presentation. 

The MOSAC Field Trips program is part of SMUD’s longstanding commitment to helping local educators connect students with STEM concepts and career pathways, especially as SMUD aims to decarbonize the region’s power supply by 2030.
