“SMUD’s actions to decarbonize the regional power supply and our support of widespread electrification are creating new opportunities in energy savings, energy efficiencies and in clean energy jobs,” said Chief Zero Carbon Officer Lora Anguay. “As we make more progress on our bold 2030 Zero Carbon Plan, SMUD will continue to invest in workforce development programs that prepare our region for high-wage careers. Promoting equitable access to employment opportunities and recruiting from a diverse talent pool are top priorities and are crucial for advancing inclusivity, building stronger communities and ensuring that everyone can participate in and benefit from a clean energy future and economy.”
