Solar customers on this rate are being transitioned to the Time-of-Day (5-8 p.m.) Rate with the option to enroll in our alternative Fixed Rate.
Please note: Solar customers will remain on SMUD’s legacy Net Energy Metering (NEM1) rate through December 31, 2030, for solar energy. You’ll continue to receive full retail rates for energy produced by your rooftop solar system. This won’t change unless you choose to take advantage of SMUD incentives to add battery storage, modify or replace your existing system, or move to a different home with solar.
