SMUD and North Natomas Jibe host free EV and e-bike test ride event

On Saturday, SMUD is excited to join North Natomas Jibe for an EV and e-bike ride and drive event at North Natomas Regional Park to share the perks and benefits of getting around in a new way.

What: Electric Ride and Drive Expo

When: Saturday, August 19, from 8:30 AM to 12:30PM

Where: The ONE North Natomas Regional Park located at 2501 New Market Drive

Who:
North Natomas Jibe,
SMUD Board Member Rob Kerth,
SMUD staff,
Sacramento City Councilmember Lisa Kaplan, and members of the community.

Community members are invited to join a free event where they can explore and experience an impressive range of electric vehicles and e-bike demonstration models from reputable brands. Anyone getting behind the wheel of an EV must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 21. E-bike riders must be at least 18 years old.

The Electric Ride and Drive Expo is pressure-free and family-friendly, set alongside the ONE North Natomas Farmer’s Market. All test riders will receive a $10 voucher that can be redeemed for food at the farmers market vendor’s stalls and food trucks right at the event.

One of the best ways to fully understand the potential of electric vehicles and e-bikes is to take them for a test drive. Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • get behind the wheel/handlebars and experience the latest advancements in electric vehicle and e-bike technology,
  • engage with EV and e-bike owners to gain insights into their experiences,
  • learn about EV and e-bike charging, and
  • discover various incentives and rebates that make EVs and e-bikes a more affordable and eco-friendly transportation option.

SMUD is transforming its power supply, actively pursuing decarbonization strategies and playing a vital role in supporting greater regional sustainability through electrification of buildings and transportation
