SMUD Powering Futures college scholarship application period now open

SMUD announced today that the application period for its Powering Futures college scholarship program is now open. The program awards up to 21 scholarships of up to $4,000 each to undergraduate students who are enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited two- or four-year college or university. Students must live in SMUD’s service area or have a legal guardian who is a SMUD customer.

The awards are based on academic merit and financial need. Preference will be given to students who have declared a major relevant to a career at SMUD. Some scholarships may also include a paid internship at SMUD for eligible students.

The deadline to apply for the scholarships is March 1, 2023. Scholarships are for the 2023/2024 academic year.
