Solar power for your business
Install solar PV and get cash from SMUD
SMUD offers financial incentives to commercial and industrial customers who install and produce their own electricity with photovoltaic systems. The current one-time incentive of $1.10 per watt (up to 1 MW) is based on the system's expected performance (EPBI).
SMUD also offers a Performance Based Incentive (PBI) in lieu of the upfront buy-down incentive. The current 5-year PBI is $0.17 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) produced. The 10-year PBI option is $0.11 per kWh. Systems installed under a Third Party Power Purchase Agreement or lease receive the 5-year or 10-year PBI option only. SMUD also offers declining PBI payments for systems larger than 1 megawatt. Please call Jim Barnett at (916) 732-6762.
