Shiroma is Board President for 2010

Director Genevieve Shiroma  of Ward 4 will serve as president of the SMUD Board of Directors in 2010. More

The Sacramento Municipal Utility District is owned by its customers, and governed by an elected Board of Directors. The seven directors are elected to staggered four-year terms, and each represents a different geographic area, or ward, within SMUD's service area. The Board of Directors determines policy for the District and appoints the General Manager, who is responsible for the District's operations.

SMUD's purpose is to provide solutions for meeting our customers' electrical energy needs. The District operates under a series of Strategic Directions that spell out our vision for the future, our role within our community, the values we support and how our operations are managed.
