Electronic funds transfer (EFT)
For check-free convenience, you can arrange to have your bill paid automatically every month by electronic funds transfer (EFT). You will still receive a SMUD bill for your records, and your checking account will be automatically debited on the due date of your bill. This service is free of charge. To pay by phone, call our automated line toll-free at 1-888-742-SMUD (7683) to authorize an electronic payment from your checking account or Visa® credit/debit card. This option is available 24 hours a day for residential customers.

If you wish to speak to a Customer Services representative to authorize an electronic payment from your checking account or from your Visa, MasterCard®, or Discover® card, there is a $4.25 service charge per transaction.
In person at SMUD, and at pay stations
You may pay in person at our Customer Service Center, 6301 S St. (corner of 65th Street, just north of Highway 50), or visit one of our pay stations. The Customer Service Center is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

PG&E payments accepted
Drop off your PG&E bill payment at one of SMUD's Customer Service Centers. PG&E also accepts SMUD payments. Allow two working days for payments to post.
