Light-emitting diodes could be your ticket to major savings on the lighting portion of your electric bill. And we’ll defray your costs with financial incentives for qualifying systems. High-efficiency LEDs are available for a wide array of interior and exterior lighting needs.
Consider the benefits
Lower electric bills: LED systems can use up to 50 percent less energy than metal halide and high-pressure sodium systems. Motion sensors, time clocks and dimming controls result in more savings.
Reduced maintenance costs: High quality LED systems are rated to perform for 50,000 hours with minimal loss of brightness.
Light where you need it: LED systems emit a directional beam of white light so you can aim it.SMUD offers rebates on qualifying LEDs through the Express Energy Solutions (EES) program:

SSL stands for solid-state lighting. Solid-state lighting refers to a type of lighting that uses semiconductor light-emitting diodes (LEDs), organic light-emitting diodes (OLED), or polymer light-emitting diodes (PLED) as sources of illumination rather than electrical filaments, plasma (used in arc lamps such as fluorescent lamps), or gas.
We offer incentives for interior LED luminaires, exterior LED luminaires, LED Lamps, LEDs for refrigerator cases, LED exit signs, and red LED channel letters.
