A safari close to home – visit the Amanda Blake Memorial Wildlife Refuge
Amanda Blake Memorial Wildlife Refuge at Rancho Seco
Named for actress and wildlife advocate Amanda Blake, who played Miss Kitty on the television show ‘Gunsmoke’, this wildlife refuge provides sanctuary for species such as Giant Eland, Emu, Ostrich and African Antelope.
The 75-acre sanctuary is home to these animals, which were rescued by the Performing Animal Welfare Society, a nonprofit organization based in Sacramento County.
We may be the only utility with emus on our land, but we're proud to be partners in preservation for the animals of the Amanda Blake Memorial Wildlife Refuge.
We want to share our pride with you! Visit the refuge in Rancho Seco Park:
- Monday-Thursday 9 AM to 3 PM
