The application period for SMUD’s Powering Futures college scholarship program closes at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 19. All interested students must finalize their applications by that time.
The program awards up to 21 scholarships of up to $5,000 each to undergraduate students who are enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited two- or four-year college or university. Students must live in SMUD’s service area or have a legal guardian who is a SMUD customer.
The awards are based on academic merit and financial need, and preference will be given to students who have declared a major relevant to SMUD. The financial awards will also include the opportunity to work as a paid intern at SMUD in 2017 or 2018. Scholarships are for the 2017/2018 academic year.
