Save $10,000 on a new BMW i3 and $3,000 on a new Nissan LEAF
Additional federal and state tax credits can add up to another $10,000 in savings in addition to SMUD’s $599 “Charge Free for Two Years” incentive
SMUD announced today that its customers are now eligible to save up to $10,000 on a new BMW i3 and up to $3,000 on a new Nissan LEAF. That’s in addition to potential savings of up to $10,000 from federal and state tax credits and a $599 “Charge Free for Two Years incentive from SMUD.“
Thousands of our customers have already gone electric and we expect these new discounts, along with the SMUD charging incentive and tax credits, to convince many more to make the switch,” said SMUD Chief Customer Officer Nicole Howard. “SMUD has been committed to electric vehicle adoption for almost 30 years. The incentives offered by SMUD and manufacturers like BMW and Nissan accelerate EV adoption by making the cars more affordable, ultimately helping reduce greenhouse gases and improving air quality in our region.”
In addition to SMUD’s $599 “Charge Free for Two Years” incentive, SMUD also offers an electric vehicle rate discount when charging between midnight and 6 a.m.
To take advantage of either the BMW or Nissan offer, buyers must be SMUD customers or immediate family members of SMUD customers living at the same address—visit smud.org/DriveElectric for complete details and the required discount form. Both offers expire on July 31, 2018.
