SMUD

• MED Rate – The medical equipment discount provides a $15 monthly discount for eligible customers.
• Wildfire Safety – Your safety is our priority.
• Energy Assistance Program Rate (EAPR) – This rate provides a monthly discount on a qualified customer's energy bill.

Utility & bill assistance

• Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)
• Oak Park Cares – A community fund to help Oak Park neighbors pay for basic needs.
• The federal Emergency Broadband Benefit can help you pay for your broadband internet costs.
• Sacramento County Water Agency – Water Lifeline Program

Home repair

• Rebuilding Together – Safe at Home Services: Free home safety modifications to low-income homeowners and a moderate fee for those above the income range or renters. Applications are also being accepted for homes that will be selected for home improvement workdays.
• Habitat for Humanity – Home Repair Program: This program helps by fixing long-deferred maintenance projects, critical repairs and code violations. We help families stay in their already affordable homes and avoid displacement.
• Sierra Service Project
• Home Aid Sacramento – HomeAid builds and maintains housing and programmatic facilities for reputable nonprofit organizations and public institutions serving those experiencing homelessness by leveraging relationships within the building industry to garner in-kind donations of labor and materials.
• SHRA, Emergency Home Repair program – Apply from June 1 – August 31 and from December 1 – February 28. 
• Community Resource Project offers free weatherization services.
• City of Folsom: Seniors Helping Seniors – Minor and major home repairs. 
• City of Citrus Heights – Home repair loans and grants programs.
• Leak-Free Sacramento – Free water leak repair from the City of Sacramento.
• USDA Home Repair: Single Family Housing Repair Loans & Grants | Rural Development (usda.gov) – This provides loans to very-low-income homeowners to repair, improve or modernize their homes or grants to elderly very-low-income homeowners to remove health and safety hazards.

First-time homebuyers assistance

• Habitat for Humanity – Future Habitat homeowners are active participants in the homebuilding and home buying process. Habitat homeowners build and buy their very own homes, creating brighter futures for themselves and their families.
• Citrus Heights First-Time Homebuyer Program – If you want to purchase a home within the City of Citrus Heights but need assistance with financing the down payment, you may be eligible for a low-interest loan through this program.
• USDA First Time Homebuyer Program: Single Family Housing Direct Home Loans | Rural Development (usda.gov) – This program assists low- and very-low-income applicants obtain decent, safe and sanitary housing in eligible rural areas by providing payment assistance to increase an applicant’s repayment ability.

• AffordableHousing.com - Affordable Houses & Apartments For Rent – this program can assist in finding affordable housing and apartments. 
• Asian Resources Inc. – Connects people to jobs and resources that would lead them to self-sufficiency. 
• United Way (yourfreetaxprep.org) – File your taxes online for free and get the tax credits you’ve earned.
• Cities and Counties for Fine and Fee Justice – The city and county of Sacramento are exploring fine and fee reforms.
• Health Education Council – Provides disadvantaged communities with education and access to free and low-cost healthy food options.
• Home Share American River– Housemate matching service for renters and landlords. They also provide service-for-rent exchanges so that renters can use their household skills to bring rent costs down.
• Resources for Independent Living (RIL) serves people with disabilities in Sacramento and Yolo County and works against displacement through transition/diversion, systems advocacy and housing search assistance.
• Legal Services of Northern California provides free legal help for housing and other issues. 
• Renters Helpline works with Project Sentinel and Legal Services of Northern California to provide free telephone counseling and dispute resolution for tenant-landlord issues.
