SMUD announces educator workshops and events

Free classes offered to educators of all types

SMUD’s Community Education & Technology Center has announced its lineup of educator workshops and events for fall 2022.

Held virtually and in-person, the free professional development workshops are open to all educators within SMUD’s service area. The first class is scheduled for September 6. SMUD is also hosting a Back-to-School Launch Party on Aug. 30 at the Aerospace Museum of California to kick off the fall lineup of courses and events.

SMUD’s Community Education & Technology Center provides instruction and education on a wide variety of energy-related topics, including renewable energy, STEM curriculum development, home energy efficiency and advanced energy and computing concepts. Education in these areas engage students in concepts and technologies that are central to SMUD’s Clean Energy Vision, which will remove carbon emissions from the region’s power supply by 2030.

SMUD also hosts several community events throughout the year, including the upcoming Electricity Fair in Folsom, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary on September 10.
