Meter reading schedule
SMUD meter readers read your meter every month, rain or shine
Please allow access
If the meter reader is unable to obtain a reading from your meter, SMUD may estimate your monthly charges based on your previous month's usage.
Determine when a meter reader will be at your location.
- Locate the billing cycle number on your bill. Make note of your billing cycle.
- Click to check your billing cycle against the 2008 meter-reading schedule, which is available in PDF format. (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print; click for a free download.) (Here's the 2007 schedule.)
Please notify SMUD if you acquire an animal that may be encountered while at your residence.
Any changes of information needed to access your meter should also be reported to SMUD: 1-888-742-7683.
