Peak Corps
Peak Corps is a voluntary program of more than 100,000 customers who help SMUD reduce electric load and maintain a reliable electric system during system or electrical emergencies. Peak Corps members allow SMUD to install a cycling device and send a radio signal to switch-off (or cycle) their central air conditioners. Cycling can occur anytime during the year. Cycling is most likely to occur between May and September when air conditioners are typically used.
