Measures that do not qualify for program incentives at this time.
SMUD reserves the right to add or delete measures from this list as needed.
- Power correction or power conditioning equipment
- Duty cyclers
- T8 and T5 fluorescent lighting retrofits where the proposed equipment does not met the CRI and Lamp Life requirements. Click here for a table showing Eligible Fluorescent Lamp Characteristics
- Compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) not equipped with electronic ballasts.
- Screw-In CFLs
- Incandescent to incandescent retrofits (including halogen incandescent)
- Measures that are installed before the project is approved
- Technologies that fail to meet or exceed federal and state minimum standards
- Technologies not approved by SMUD
- Technologies where there is no significant replacement/installation of equipment or modification to existing equipment
- Measures that are not permanently installed and can be easily removed, such as:
- Refrigerant Additives - High performance hydraulic fluid
- Measures that save energy because of operational changes
- Cool roof systems
- Fuel-switching measures
- Self-generation or cogeneration projects
- Repair or maintenance of existing equipment
- Re-commissioning activities
- Pre-owned equipment
