Non-vacuum thin-film CIGS modules
Purpose
The contractor, Unisun, will fabricate efficient thin-film PV modules using particles-based non-vacuum processes, and extend innovative new techniques to the fabrication of larger-area modules. (Project 4.1)
Potential benefit
Reduced PV module manufacturing costs. New process utilizes lower-cost materials and requires less capital investment for production
Scope of work
- Develop the equipment and processing parameters necessary to fabricate multi-cell modules using particles-based non-vacuum processes.
- Demonstrate that low-cost non-vacuum processing can yield large, efficient PV modules.
