Remote dispatch and photovoltaic irrigation
Purpose
The contractor will develop PV-powered irrigation system designs, implement demonstration projects and monitor their performance. Test the market for remote dispatch of large PV systems in agricultural applications. (Project 3.6)
Potential benefit
Create the basis for a PV agricultural irrigation program, and begin the development of a new market for PV. Also: Provide benefits for SMUD agricultural customers.
Scope of work
- Complete a market potentials assessment.
- Complete designs for two projects, one very small well pump and one very large well pump.
- Complete two installations.
