BIPV mounting approaches for new construction
Purpose
The contractor, RWE Schott Solar, will develop BIPV mounting approaches for new building construction that can be used by architects, designers and engineers to promote the use of BIPV in new construction. (Project 3.2)
Potential benefit
Will provide more options in BIPV techniques, which will increase the use of BIPV in new construction.
Scope of work
- Identify two or three focus areas, such as sloped roofs, awnings, shade structures, etc., for this task.
- Develop designs that allow for flexibility for different types of buildings and solicit feedback of builders and SMUD.
- Prototype one or more of the targeted designs and create drawings and specifications that can be used by engineers and builders.
