Slat-array concentrator development
Purpose
The contractor, SVV Technology Innovations, Inc., will design and test a low-cost, reliable, easy-to-install slat-array PV concentrating system. (Project 4.4)
Potential benefit
Develop a lower-cost concentrating solar power system that may improve the cost of manufacturing and installation, as well as improve reliability.
Scope of work
- Design and fabricate a small-scale pilot prototype.
- Operate the small-scale prototype and modify the design as needed.
- Design a 30 ft2 system.
- Fabricate and install a 30 ft2 system.
- Monitor and evaluate its performance.
