SMUD offers several options for paying your utility bill:
Online Safe, secure eBill is the easiest way to pay, from your checking account or with a credit card or ATM/debit card. Click here to get started. Our eBill service also offers a fast easy way to check your usage and enroll in SMUD programs.
To pay by mail, write your account number on your check, include your payment stub if possible and send to:
To pay by phone, call our Customer Services line toll-free at 1-877-622-SMUD (7683) during business hours (M-F 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) to authorize an electronic payment from your checking account (this option requires a $4.25 service charge per transaction). You may also pay via American Express. A low 3 percent fee applies to each American Express payment.
You may pay in person at our Customer Service Center, 6301 S St. (corner of 65th Street, just north of Highway 50), or visit one of our pay stations.
For check-free convenience, you can arrange to have your bill paid automatically every month through our Electronic Funds Transfer service. You will still receive a SMUD bill for your records, and your checking account will be automatically debited on the due date of your bill. This service is free of charge. Drop off your PG&E bill payment at one of SMUD's Customer Service Center. PG&E also accepts SMUD payments. Allow two work days for payments to post.
