Director Peter R. Keat
Peter Keat, Ward Five representative, was first elected to the SMUD Board of Directors in 1988. He represents downtown and midtown Sacramento, Rio Linda and Elverta. (See map of SMUD territory.)
Since 1980, Keat has owned and operated a retail bookstore that sells new, second-hand and out-of-print books.
Keat previously served as the president of the Midtown Business Association and was on the board of the Environmental Council of Sacramento. He has served on the board of the Sacramento Natural Foods Cooperative for 13 years and has been president for five terms.
Keat earned a master's degree from Indiana University in 1974 and graduated from the University of California, Davis, in 1971 with a bachelor's degree.
